Sights in Alta Badia
The Santuary of S. Croce, under the walls of Sasso Croce From Pedraces (San Leonardo) take the Santa Croce chairlift and after a 20 minute walk, reach the Sanctuary of Santa Croce, a small church and hospice at the foot of Mount Croce (2045 m)
Castle and Ladin Museum Ciastel de Tor (in San Martino, Badia Valley): A reference point for historical and geological information about the Ladin Dolomites. The museum is rich with everything Ladin: the history, language, legends, archaeology, geology, tourism, crafts and culture typical of this population.
A quaint new museum in San Cassiano, Ursus ladinicus, displays the remains of the Bear of Conturines.

Other museums in the area include the South Tyrol Museum of Folk Traditions in Dietenheim (Brunico) and the Õtzi Museum in Bolzano.
Lagazuoi in the Dolomites and World War I: Mount Lagazuoi was a site of fierce fighting between Italian and Austrian Alpine troops during WWI. The open-air museum of Lagazuoi is particularly noteworthy and its entrance is easily accessible with a 10-minute walk from the Lagazuoi cable car station. The various routes offer spectacular views and visits to restored tunnels, trenches and machine gun posts from the war.
Lake itineraries: Lake Sompunt (20 walk from La Villa), Lake Boe' (2 hour walk from Corvara), Lake Lagazuoi (1 hour and 15 minute walk from San Cassiano/Capanna Alpina), Lake Lee (10 minute walk from the mountain station of the Santa Croce/San Leonardo chairlift).

Soscofes, biotope lake in Corvara: We recommend a relaxing day at Soscofes, an artificial lake for swimming with easy public access, a sunbathing area and an outdoor snack bar.

Walking paths: Alta Badia is covered by an extensive network of walking and hiking trails within reach for every visitor: the five villages of La Villa, S.Cassiano, Corvara, Pedraces and Colfosco are easily accessed by comfortable paths specially marked for families with children. For those searching for more challenge, there are many trails leading to high elevations and neighboring nature parks. Many ski lifts are also in operation during the summer to reach higher altitudes.
The birthplace of Saint Joseph Freinademetz in Oies
In 1852, St. Joseph Freinademetz was born in Oies, a hamlet above the village of San Leonardo in Badia. Now a place of faith and prayer, the rooms of the house display photographs, documents, clothing and other relics of the saint and his family.
A church dedicated to Saint Joseph Freinademetz was built near the home and provides a large room for prayer.
