Alta Badia and surroundings: The Gardena Valley
Alta Badia is in an excellent location for trips to neighboring valleys such as the Gardena Valley.
The Gardena Valley
Within an 8 km radius lie three renowned resort towns: Ortisei 1236 m asl, S. Cristina 1428 m asl, and Selva Gardena 1563 m asl. They provide a total of 16500 accommodations in hotels, guesthouses, residences, bed and breakfasts and apartments in private homes. The Val Gardena is a distinctively characteristic place with its traditions and culture, customs and woodcarving, especially the small works of art, such as crèche figures.

From Alta Badia, the Gardena Valley can be reached by the Gardena Pass:
- Distance from Corvara to Selva di Val Gardena is 20 km
- Distance from Corvara to Ortisei is 28 km
Sassolungo (Saslonch)
The Sassolungo and Gardena Pass offer spectacular views of Sassolungo’s grand rock walls, with the Torri del Sella to the left.
Walking around the Sassolungo: Forcella del Sassolungo at Rifugio Comici
Alpe di Siusi
The Alpe di Siusi is located between the Gardena and Isarco valleys and can be reached from Ortisei by Ortisei - Alpe di Siusi cablecar. Many paths originate from here that lead to endless expanses of meadows and pastures during the summer, a quiet oasis partially included in Sciliar National Park.
Sellaronda Express Skitour (Dolomiti Superski)
Departing from La Villa, Corvara or Colfosco, take the Plans and Frara gondolas and the Cir chairlift. Descend to Selva di Val Gardena and ascend again to high altitudes with the Ciampinoi to brave the World Cup downhill slope that leads to S. Cristina. There is a connection to Seceda through a new aerial tramway and underground tunnel.

Gardenaronda Express (funicular railway and tunnel)
From the top of Seceda, there’s a long downhill (10 km) to Ortisei. Take the Seceda lift back up for the return route to Alta Badia.
Ski tour: 24 lifts, 36 km of downhill slopes, approx. 6 hours in length (including half-hour lunch break).
