Falzarego Pass, Lagazuoi and Cinque Torri The chain of mountains between Falzarego and Giau is a popular vacation destination in Alta Badia. The four (five- cinque?) principal mountain peaks are exceptionally panoramic: Lagazuoi, Croda Negra, L' Averau (2649 meters and the highest of the group), Nuvolau and Gusela. Cinque Torri offers one of the most beautiful panoramas in the Dolomites. From Alta Badia, drive past S. Cassiano and up through Valparola Pass, reaching the Falzarego area.

Alta Badia - Lagazuoi - Cinque Torri – Cortina Ski Tours Departing from La Villa, take the Piz La Ila gondola and follow the directions to Piz Sorega. Ski down slope B to Hotel Armentarola (diversion about half way down slope). From here, taxis and skibuses transport skiers to Falzarego Pass (5Euro/person, 15 min. trip). Take the cablecar up to Lagazuoi and ski down towards Scotoni rifugio and Capanna Alpina, following the stream to Sass Dlacia, where horses await to pull skiers back to Armentarola. Return to La Villa by Piz Sorega and Bamby.

An alternative route is available for a longer ski tour by skiing down to Cinque Torri, take lift to Nuvolao (enjoy the stunning view of Tofane and the towers) and/or taking the ski bus allows another option to the Pomedes and Ravalles – Tofana (Cortina) ski slopes. Return to Falzarego with the ski bus.

The lengthy downhill from Lagazuoi to Capanna Alpina (San Cassiano) is breathtaking.

Ski tour: 18 ski lifts, 1 taxi or ski bus to ross the pass, 1 ski bus from Cinque Torri to Son dei Prade Square (Cortina). Approx. length of time is 7 hrs (including break for lunch) with 30 km of slopes.
